Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 2025

Cemetery on the Hill is committed to making our website usable and enjoyable for everyone. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and follow the spirit of the UK Equality Act 2010.

Measures we take

  • Use clear headings and logical page structure.

  • Provide alt text for meaningful images.

  • Maintain sufficient color contrast and visible focus states.

  • Ensure keyboard-only navigation (including menus, forms, modals).

  • Avoid content that flashes more than 3 times per second.

  • Support text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

  • Provide descriptive link text (no “click here”).

  • Use captions or transcripts for key promotional videos as they are added.

  • Respect user settings for reduced motion where possible.

Compatibility

Our site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) on desktop and mobile. Older browsers may have reduced support.

Assistive technologies

We test with keyboard-only navigation and screen reader basics (e.g., NVDA/VoiceOver) on representative pages and templates. Because we use Wix, some underlying components are platform-controlled; we select the most accessible templates and widgets available.

Known limitations

We’re actively improving the following areas:

  • Older images may need improved or more descriptive alt text.

  • Some third-party embeds (e.g., social media widgets) may not fully meet WCAG.

  • Legacy PDFs may not be fully accessible; we can provide HTML or accessible PDF versions on request.

If you encounter an issue not listed here, please tell us and we’ll prioritize a fix.

Feedback & requests

Enforcement & complaints

If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the UK Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for further guidance.

Continuous improvement

We review this statement and our site accessibility at least every 12 months or when we launch new features.
